Following two reported incidents on June 14, 2010, in Europe in which it was reported that the screw and the spring in the “hood attachment bracket” came loose, Stokke conducted extensive tests to determine the cause of the incidents.
Stokke concluded that the incidents were due to an incorrect spring used by our supplier in a limited batch of “hood attachment brackets” from the initial production of the 2010 model Xplory® strollers.
None of the 2010 model Xplory® strollers containing the incorrect spring were sold in the United States and your 2010 model Xplory® stroller is not affected by this issue.
However, in conducting our tests, we have determined that after extensive use over a lengthy period of time, it is possible that the screw in the “hood attachment brackets” could separate. To eliminate this possibility, Stokke has developed a new “hood attachment bracket” that removes the screw from the design.
Therefore, to ensure the highest quality, reliability and safety of our products, Stokke has decided to immediately replace all existing “hood attachment brackets” for the Xplory® hood (2010 model) shipped from Stokke before June 17, 2010 in all markets with the newly designed “hood attachment brackets”.
This product part upgrade is only related to the “hood attachment brackets” and not to the stroller itself.
This means that you can continue to use your stroller but we strongly recommend that you discontinue use of the hood mounted on the stroller until the “hood attachment brackets” have been replaced.
All authorized Stokke retailers have been informed of the product part upgrade and are ready to support you and to replace the “hood attachment brackets” on your stroller.
However, we ask you to immediately contact us using the below form, so that we can arrange for replacement of the “hood attachment brackets” on your stroller as soon as possible.
If you have already had the "hood attachment brackets" on your stroller replaced with new ones with a silver bolt in the middle, you may disregard this notification.
