Tripp Trapp designer receives high ranking prize
Peter Opsvik received the Anders Jahres Cultural Prize on September 4th 2008 for his achievements through almost five decades.
The prize is the highest regarded cultural prize in Norway. In the weeks after it was public that Opsvik was going to receive the diploma, honour and money, the news have been everywhere, including in-depth interviews in the major national newspapers in Norway.
In all statements about Opsvik, the Tripp Trapp highchair and the Stokke name have claimed its fair share of the fame. When handing the prize to Opsvik, the Chairman of the Board in the Anders Jahre foundation, said: "You may not know Peter Opsvik by name, but asking anyone on the street, nine out of ten would know the Tripp Trapp".
The award winning Tripp Trapp highchair was launched by Stokke in 1972.
