“Hood attachment bracket”
on Xplory® hood (2010 model)
- production flaw.
Applies only for Stokke® Xplory® strollers (2010 model) sold by Stokke BEFORE 17th of June 2010.
Dear Stokke® Xplory® 2010 model customer,
This safety notification only affects consumers who are in possession of an
Xplory® stroller 2010 model (serial no from 127390).
A production flaw in a part of the initial production of the “hood attachment bracket” for the new Xplory® stroller (2010 model) has been identified. The production flaw is related to a spring in the “hood attachment bracket” on the Xplory® regular hood 2010 model and the Xplory® Summer Kit hood 2010 model.
Following two reported incidents June 14, 2010, in Europe, according to which the connection between the two main parts on the “hood attachment bracket” separated, extensive tests have been conducted, and there is a risk if this happens, that small parts may come loose.
The production flaw with the spring does not necessarily lead to a product defect.
The springs related to the production flaw has not been used on products in all markets (e.g. the US, Canada and Australia).
Nevertheless, putting product safety and quality above all, Stokke has decided to immediately initiate a corrective action and in all markets replace all “hood attachment brackets” for the Xplory® hood (2010 model) shipped from Stokke before June 17, 2010.
The production flaw is only related to the “hood attachment bracket” and not to the stroller per se. This means that a stroller can be used without the hood mounted on the stroller. But the stroller must not be used with the hood mounted.
All authorized Stokke retailers have been informed of the production flaw and are ready to support you and replace the “hood attachment brackets” on your stroller.
However, we ask you to immediately contact us using the form below so that we can arrange for replacement of the “hood attachment brackets” on your stroller as soon as possible. If you have already had the "hood attachment brackets" on your stroller replaced with new ones with a silver bolt in the middle, you may disregard this safety notification.
