Oeko-Tex approval for Stokke® Sleepi™ textiles
From the very beginning, Stokke have made every effort to use safe materials in our production.
Our vision to make products “In the best interest of your child”, includes a promise to our customers when it comes to the quality, versatility, safety and comfort of our products. We are continuously developing production techniques, fuel efficient shipping, and distribution methods, to keep this promise.
Confidence in textiles
An important part of our objectives in this area is the Oeko-Tex standard 100, an international synonym for responsible textile production, setting the standard on textile safety. The textiles for Stokke ® Sleepi ™ (bedlinen, sheets, bumpers, mattress covers, sleeping bags, and canopys) have all been approved by the International Oeko-Tex association*. This certification includes an annual revision of our products and thereby a lasting promise of product safety. The Stokke Sleepi bed system is an evolving product that adapts to the development and needs of the growing child. This approval supports our claim that that Stokke Sleepi bed is the optimal sleeping environment for children from babyhood and into the school years.
What is tested?
The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 test is based on internationally binding, scientifically proven parameters, and is revised annually in line with the latest legislation and research. These parameters include:
• substances which are prohibited by law, such as carcinogenic dyestuffs
• substances which are regulated by law, such as formaldehyde, softeners, heavy metals or pentachlorophenol
• substances which according to current knowledge are harmful to health, but which are not yet regulated or prohibited by law, such as pesticides, allergy-inducing dyestuffs or tin-organic compounds
• parameters such as colourfastness and a skin-friendly pH-value, which are precautionary measures to safeguard consumers heat
*The tests were carried out by the Danish Technological institute, an Institute of the International Association for Research and testing in The Field of Textile Ecology (Oeko-Tex)
