How do I know whether my Tripp Trapp® chair is compatible with the Baby Set™ and Newborn Set™?
The current Baby Set™ as well as the Newborn Set™ are compatible with all Tripp Trapp® chairs produced from May 2003. This corresponds to serial numbers starting with 3 or higher. The serial number and production date are printed on the bottom strut. If you are unable to make out this information on your Tripp Trapp® chair, you can also measure the gap between the two back rest pieces: prior to May 2003, this measured approx. 2.5 cm, while on chairs since May 2003 it is approx. 3.5 cm. Chairs produced before May 2003 are not compatible with the current ® Baby Set™ and the Newborn Set™. Earlier models of the Baby Set™, with wooden rail, are no longer available. Read More

In order to back the "chair for life" claim, Tripp Trapp® has been also tested beyond the typical 110 kg/242.5 lbs limit of adult chairs by modifying conditions of various strength tests to become even more stringent. All Stokke® furniture is made from wood, which, as a natural product, may show a degree of natural variance. Also, we source our wood from several sustainable sources and we cannot therefore guarantee individual chairs will have come from the same stand of trees.
